It's useful as fuck in WoE, it's great in places like bio3/4 where you often insetad of killing stuff tp it away, and I don't remember if everything tps away, or just monsters with teleport. In fact, I think we got it easier here because I think VE is disabled in dungeons on officials.
Another thing is that Sorc doesn't need any more defensive tricks. It's already pretty tanky, can abuse kaahi, insignias are fucked by cooldowns (would be better if they worked like ele fields so you could move them, right now they're extremely situational), but they can be used to reduce damage by a ton, summons give you elemental immunities until something uses AoE, bunch of great utility skills like SW, LP, WoF, FW, Web etc.
The only thing you could complain about is damage, and that's more because magic sucks in general on this server. WL can hit pretty hard in PvP thanks to how hard it is to get high mdef for players, but everything in PvM reduces your damage by a ton. You need to stack fucktons of buffs like songs and mind breaker to make stuff hit hard unless it's skill itself that is much better than others due to its mechanics. On top of that almost all 3rd class magic skills have big cooldowns, most magic has long casts, and less buffs than physical damage. It can't be endowed except Psychic Wave. Physical classes hit faster and harder. In pre-re magic at least had almost monopoly for great AoE, now it has only being cheap (no projectiles to carry, no need for ele converters or endow alt), which is nothing.
But that's more of a problem for WL. Sorc is already more hybrid class, probably leaning more to the support side. It's magic RG, just much weaker because magic sucks.
Disclaimer: magic isn't nerfed here, it's mdef on monsters issue couped with official treatment of physical and magical skills (cooldowns, casts etc)
