I think that's the skill.  From what I can tell, pre-renewal with effects off would prevent the screen from blurring and warping, although incoming damage notifications were of course, wrong, because of the skill itself.

 

Anyway, this was the best thing.   That's how it should have stayed. 

 

Now, I assume, with Renewal, the same skill flips the screen upside down. I remember seeing this on another server so I assumed it came with the Renewal package. That's problematic.

 

Little backstory to explain my issue.  Two years ago I had head-shunt surgery, my third or fourth one.  This one went off without any hitches, or so, everybody thought so.

 

Now? SURPRISE.   I have seizures.  Almost every single game in the world is cut off to me now because too many flashes and shit cause my sorry arse to seize.

 

RO's graphics and ability to turn most blinding and obnoxious effects off has done me very well, both in the past and now.  I have no issue.  

 

Are there any items that null hallucinate, is really what I'm getting at here, because if it is the same skill I'm thinking of, that'd be bloody  brilliant, so I can avoid any issues.

hmm. if you are talking about the status effect that flips your screen upside down and makes you feel drowsy. i think turning the camera direction cannot be negated via /effects.
but if you warp back to town the nurse can cure you of the condition.
and i am not entirely certain, but i seem to recall that green potions can be used to cure the effect on spot. you can try to buy some from the tool dealer, or make some at the Old Pharmacist in Alberta. try to check if that fixes the issue.

Just tested it. Hallucination (being drunk) is cured by green potions just perfectly, also King's Grace works on it just fine too.

 

also green potions come a certain low rate from gift boxes, old blue and purple boxes, as an addition to the upper mentioned methods of acquiring it.

Hallucination was "fixed" by Gravity some time after renewal since the old wavy effect had the devil's ability to choke a lot of modern graphic cards.
It now flips your screen upside down and unfortunately can't be bypassed by /effect.
Only thing you can do is to remove it with Cure, Green Pots, Panacea, Royal Jelly or Dispel. Or just avoid mobs with the skill.

Fake Angels in Geffenia are simply horrible.

Besides the stuff mentioned above, there's also the Alchemist's Mask from Headgear Connoisseur, which grants immunity, it's somewhat costly though.

Shit happens, people can't make every game 'everything-friendly' because it's impossible considering how various shit can be, and would lmit gaming by a ton.

Thanks folks. Terps, especially thank you for that.  Rather than risk getting the status effect at all, and constantly having a vertigo of upside-down horse-shite, at least I can go for that. XD.

 

Funnily enough I first experienced hallu when I was in Geffenia -- if I hadn't bothered to farm there I probably wouldn't have known that this damn thing existed until an MVP decided to flip jack my face.

 

I'm gonna go punch Seija now (Sorry, Touhou) while I save up enough crap for that hat.

 

Also Psor, I am well aware of that.
