when I hit the play button in the patcher it just instantly crashes

 

things I have done:

set compatibility mode/run as admin

set to each of my different output devices in open setup

reinstalled on different drives

redownloaded the client

ran update-ragnarok and update-renewal, deleted leika.dat and repatched

 

what i'm currently doing:

downloading the rar of the full client

 

i'm on win10 with latest updates.

dunno what else to do.

 

will update if the rar helps.

Could be your antivirus and/or firewall blocking it, as well. Try allowing it as an exception, or temporarily disabling them to test that out.

so instead of grabbing the .exe I grabbed the .rar, patched and it worked perfectly (after changing my display output)

also installed C++ redistributable as advised from a PM

disabled my antivirus too

 

not sure which of these fixed it, but it was one of them.

makes me think of several conflicts with w10's updates

It's also possible that the game either has to be installed inside program files folder or outside of it to work.
