So, i wanted to put up something like that on RMS but muh 500 chars, its too litle, so might aswell leave it here...

First of all the server has a lot of balance changes that literally saved fhe fiasco renewal was(at least for me) that's a really good thing and i feel like pointing that out from the start, keep in mind that i'm writing all this from a total newbie point of view, there are things that may look "trivial" once you're in for a set amount of time, but can be very challenging for a new player, especially for the ones that didn't play RO for that long and aren't really familiar with how the game work, so without further ado, lets start!

Once I started out the prontera board quests were the first thing i actually liked, since it is possible to skip a good amount of the lol level pain +1 on that! After rebirthing and getting to 3rd is where the game really begins, BUT with the said balance changes ppl can get quite "scared" of how strong magic damage is in here, and most people seem to have forgotten how helpful a simple bathory or evil druid card can be, improving survivability A LOT, so there can be the first "barrier" for players now knowing that! I also had real issues with bleeding(but that was adressed rather quick, another +1 to that!).

Things were smooth until i ended up in the 140~150 range, every range had at least one board quest that wouldn't require a party to deal with, which was nice, because i was kinda addicted to the game and since its a small community, there were times ppl weren't around so i was "stuck" not being able to do what i really wanted at that time(leveling) and either afking on pront or having to do a different thing than i had in mind, there goes the first -1!

The community was probably what kept me playing by then, so another big +1 on that, i then discovered the instances and they helped a bit, even tho i would not get as much experience from that because of my level, was still something "doable" with small groups or even solo with some effort+spending on consumables...

after 150 it got slower, but i could party with most of the active population, so mvping and doing boards when people felt like were what took me to 175, and that concludes the "leveling arc".

Aside from that, since the server has a small population some stuff can be "locked" out of reach for newbies, guild dungeons for instance, since there are a good deal of cards/drops from there that new players would be glad to have and  TBH i don't see the guys who actively defend the castle every week playing on a daily basis, so that is one more thing locked out of reach of the "general population" because of the small trade market going on and so litle(not to say none) of the mobs that have the drops being hunted, so there goes another -1.

I kinda like the feeling of accomplishment i get when doing some instances that were meant to be hard, but i really feel like we lack content that could be done solo or in small parties(not having to multiclient 5 or so roles because not everyone has 1: gear to all those chars 2: fingers to properly manage them depending on the ocasion) after all it is a small community and we won't be getting a shit ton of players overnight, so I feel like having that kind of content "farmable" by small groups is something the server lacks at the moment, and i already told terp one idea i had to make stuff "doable" in smaller groups, though i do know that it would require a lot of effort on her end and lots of testing to achieve "ideal" results.

tl;dr version: server has a lot of good challenging content that would require larger groups, but is a bit lacking on stuff doable in smaller groups/solo, after all we sadly can't be in a party 100% of the time, especially on a low population...

I'm all for adding intermediate content, In fact a fair amount of older stuff was adjusted to fill that gap instead of being left in the dust, and there's a pretty wide array of new and revamped equipment to aid this purpose. I also prioritize new content for those level ranges. Although ultimately most of the time is spent at 175 so there has to be plenty of endgame content there.

Pretty much all those issues you mentioned would be solved with a healthy population and while that's hard nowadays, I don't believe in watering down the whole game for solo play. This is still a MMORPG and playing with others should be the main focus, there's nothing wrong with having content specifically made for groups and such content should provide the best rewards. The sensible approach is to add more beginning and intermediate content for tiny groups, with rewards that match difficulty.

Unlocking SE guild dungeons for everyone in some way is on the list and I also wanted to turn Hall of Abyss stuff into something else, like custom dungeons with unique loot.

I totally agree that most of the problems would be solved with a healthy population, and I also don't think that just turning into some "i solo everything" is the right answer aswell, I just pointed out some of the "struggle points" i had while playing...
And the problem I see at the moment is that the server is pretty good with a lot of end game content available, but the ratio of people joining compared to the people leaving is what really "kills" the server, because of that barrier, getting into the midgame can be quite challenging as it is, and if you can find a way to make that adjustment slightly more viable or even a bit smoother it could lead to people wanting to stay and bear with the small population server and actually making it grow, at least that's how i see things, and my opinion can be a bit biased towards instance play since i do like that aspect of the game a lot, i also do like high population maps and mobing to level/farm, but both those gameplay styles requires people and tbh is the onyl "real problem" for me right now, as i am deeply in love with the server that made me relive some of my best experiences with RO i had when i was younger.

I don't think that game would have to be put on "easy mode" at all, don't get me wrong, its just a matter of fine tunning some stuff for people to be able to do while soloing, not that that has to be the focus, just one option, ofc with decreased rewards to match the "challenge level" that would be lower than the one required by party play, that's what i tried to express

I think that having more options available while leveling (Solo) is a good thing in general. Even though we want party content, in the end as said before, its not always an option to form a group. Especially for newer people, new players without a link to the community yet or people who dont speak up first at all. Everyone can get tired after just farming pront/eden boards. We all want a little change once in a while, but if thats all for parties, then "u outta luck son". Its not about watering down the majority of the game to fit solo players, its just having the mindset of "hey, i dont have to keep killing the same monster over and over and over to get to 175! I can also do x y. Maybe i get less drops there, but fancier exp gains." or somehting like that anyway.

My point exactly, right now the options for solo play are close to none so ppl either afk in pront waiting for some parties to happen or just log out, in either way it can be very frustrating for someone that is willing to play but have very limited options at disposal, and thats what i tried to expres on my post, the server is very good, but it is quite "punishing", and even tho the community is friendly, the server itself isn't because there is not a solid stepping stone so new players can think "hey, thats nice i can work on that if there are no groups going" instead of just going afk and eventually leave without even being able to enjoy the "end-game" properly...

There should be options available, party play should be encouraged and rewarded accordingly, but you can't expect a 10~20 active member community to be around at the same time always, especially with all the timezones involved and don't give at least an option for those to do while they can't challenge harder content...

Tbh took me 3 days to do a simple infinite space party going on, and that was quite frustrating to say the least...
