If you already played on a Renewal server, you have faced the new EXP system and should be aware of the issues it brought, such as:

  • Making classic grind hardly a thing after level 100
  • Turning MVP farm into the only relevant and viable option

 

 

So, how do we fix it? Simply increasing rates is a lazy solution that doesn't address those issues but rather aggravates them, because:

  • It doesn't matter if the rates are x10 or x30 when in both cases you are getting 0.01% per kill. Even if the rates go high enough to increase that to 0.02%, it still doesn't really help much.
  • It makes MVP farming even more appealing and relevant since this is where increased rates have a real impact. This allows for extremely fast leveling for organized groups while the majority still has to deal with limited MVP availability.

 

 

Our intention isn't to massively speed up the leveling process by boosting MVP exp since we don't want to turn the server into a practical high rate.

Our intention is to provide more options so there's always something you can do to increase your level at a reasonable speed, instead of idling and waiting for that MVP to respawn or your ET cooldown to reset.

 

This is achieved with:
 

1)  Boosting the party share range to 30 levels.

 

2)  Removal of Renewal EXP penalties while keeping the EXP bonus ( you can check the table here ). This means that you will receive full EXP no matter the level difference while still getting up to 40% increased EXP for mobs above your level. With this, the major offender is neutralized.

3)  Eden Group Board Quests up to 175.

4)  Mission board, offering easy to pick up quests. User submitted Missions may be accepted.

5)  Unique Achievement System rewarding classic grind in a simple way:

  • Kill 200 of the same mob and receive a good chunk of Base EXP and Job EXP.
  • Kill 400 more and receive an even bigger reward.

 

Those are one time only so you may try your luck on a different map after exhausting the available rewards. This is also a work in progress.

 

6)  Battle Manuals for both Base EXP and Job EXP will be available from the Cash Shop and certain quests. Improved Manuals and extremely rare consumable items that grant a big amount of Base EXP and Job EXP will be available in-game.

 

As for the actual rates, we are going to test these changes with x15 during the Open Beta and see how it goes.
