hi i'mChippy, and you somehow landed in my super novice guide, if you did this on purpose you might want to reconsider your whole life, if you did this by accident, it's still time to skip this post and read the replies instead of the main post. THIS CLASS HAS NEARLY NO USE OUTSIDE OF PVP AND YOU WILL LEVEL ALONE ONLY UNTIL LEVEL 110, AND THEN LIVE FOREVER FROM LEECHING.
Why play a Super Novice?
super novices have most of first job skills, and a few important second job skills, they're good dealing with absolutely any PvP situation with the correct gear, super novices can shut down every other class with their mediocreness, and then you can laugh at them for losing to a novice. this will also bring respect from your peers seeing how awesome you are playing a mediocre class, and you guild master will tell you to reroll a useful class.
with no further scooby doo, let's get to what really matters
Possible Stat Builds
luk on all these builds is purely for the crowd control effect reduction, and crit is absolute shit for all of these builds
Pure Melee: relies on mammonite skills and stone curse some crowd control effects to deal as much damage as possible within short bursts. Good against low armor classes.
Support Melee: agi > vit > luk high agi and vit will make you have a really nice survivability, though you will lose most of your melee burst, this works well with status effect cards on weapons and maxing aspd. Good for emp breaking.
Pure Int Caster: full int > dex >vit, you will basically be a proffessor without the usefulness, relies on bolt type skills and fire pillar to keep enemies zoned out and stay "safe"
Agi Caster: full agi > int > vit, dexless, this works very well for castle sieges, since Improved Dodge, Increase AGI and Attention Concentrate will give you the flee you need, while you still can deal "some" punishment to some shitters.
Support Caster: vit > dex > luk > int, this works really well to keep you alive while you heal/pneuma/quagmire/stone curse/frost diver/recovery/cure/sanctuary/buff your party, this even works in some places for PvM
All Purpose: all stats 90, literally. this is good at any range you get, you get enough damage to push with magnum break, enough life to endure strong attacks, enough dex to cast that frost diver before asura strike hits you, enough int to not hit 1 on sorcs with bolts, enough luk so freeze lasts two thirds of what it normally does, and enough agi to dodge low dex classes. needs a lot of weapon switching to work. skill point requirement is huge, and this spec should not be tried if not max level.
Gearing Up
again, PvM with this class is impossible, so you should farm everything with another character. Super Novices can use absolutely ANY hat and level 4 wands, staves, axes, maces, swords and daggers when soul linked.
Headgears heres what you put on your head, not necesarily on top of it
UPPER
Spoiler
Angel's Kiss [1]: absolute shit, unless you get to improve it through the second floor eden quest thing, then you can use this for the set. THIS SET IS ONLY GOOD FOR MELEE BUILDS
Beret/Feather Beret/Poo Poo hat: default anti demi human protection, overall good on pvp, but there's better choices. Feather beret is the best choice for support casters
Hunting Cap of Galloping Gust [1]: (from Kawaii coin shop) - this cap will provide 5% defense against demi human, 5% against ranged and magical and will cast Fear on your opponents (basically root), the good part is that it has a slot along with all the good bonuses, if you get to refine this to +7, it will be 10% demi human reduction, along with everything else and the precious slot. YOU NEED A SHINING POLYHEDRON BRACELET TO MAKE THE REDUCTIONS APPLY.
Knit Cap of Raging Winter [1]: same as above except this one freezes instead of fearing, and instead of the 5% ranged/magical reduc, it gives 15% variable/fixed cast time reduc, pretty good for pure int casters. you also need a polyhedron bracelet for this
Silk Hat of Intangible Land [1]: again same as above, but with deep sleep, and 5% max HP and 10% more healing from condensed white pots. Awesome choice for support melee.
Ten Gallon Hat of Living Flame [1]: same, but with chance to cause Burning, and 9% more magical and physical damage. this hat is absolute shit unless you're trying to build for pvm, for which this class sucks.
Ascendant Crown [1]: super novice 2hu hat, this hat is best for the all purpose build, since it would make you not-useless at everything you do, specially if you're crazy enough to +9 it.
MIDDLE
Spoiler
Blush of Groom: default pvp middle, 3% is way more than what it seems to be, specially if your hp pool is shit.
Sigrun's Wings: terp reccomended this, 120 hp 60 sp middle headgear, the SP can be good since you have like 700 sp even with succubus + incubus + full int + level 175, but the HP is shit, there definetly are better options.
Black Devil's Mask: sadly, this shit underrated hat is really good for the all purpose spec, 2 all stats can make you dodge that attack, survive that comet, hit that 5 points of damage you were lacking and cast that diver .03 seconds earlier.
Robo Eye: good only for pure damage builds, not recommended.
LOWER
Spoiler
2% demihuman reduction hats: poker card, handkerchief, whatever dude. good for pvp
Blue Pencil in Mouth: 3% mdef penetration is good, but only if you're a pure int shitter.
CD in Mouth: good for the all purpose build, for when your steel body procs and shitters refuse to dispel you, just punish them with your pseudo-sorcerer-like autocast
Blood Sucker: does this sound good? IT IS NOT. novice SP pool is too little to risk losing your recovery, and weight limit too low like to carry potions to compensate that, though if you find a way to make this work, it should be on the pure melee build.
CARDS
Spoiler
Incubus Card: use with succubus card. absolutely mandatory for all purpose and support classes, the SP pool increase is huge, and the HP will make you survive, specially good if you get the brooch to improve the combo.
Arc Angeling Card: the only way to get this is with a mystical card album, and if you get it, it's only useful for leveling, the good news is that this card alone will let you grind up to 140 alone instead of having to leech so much.
Bungisngis Card: the hardest card to pronounce. this can be good if you get a decently high refine on your hat.
Duneyrr Card: gives you perfect dodge when going melee, not reccomended unless you have a kaite slave and a lot of elemental resistance, and you only need perfect dodge.
Gemini-S58 Card: stupidly good for all purpose type, gives you resist to four different statuses.
Isilla Card: good for agi casters, will cast suffragium when you hit with spells and even more flee.
Marduk Card: silenced novices cant do much, however int reduces chance to be silenced by 1% per point, so this is only good for pure melees that rely on mammonite.
Nightmare Card: makes you immune to sleep, which is good if you have no agi, agi reduces chance to fall asleep by 1% per point, good card if you're pure int and suspect your enemy actually knows how to use sandman.
Rata Card: matk 10 and 50% fixed cast time reduc, it's a lot like isilla but without the flee, and with fixed cast time reduction, good for pure int.
WEAPONS
you should pick more than one, since weapon switching is used on most of the builds.
Spoiler
Combat Knife: best pvp choice, 10% demi human reduc, good if you want to get to some place unharmed, or if you see that asura being casted and have no time to frost diver.
Assassin's Dagger: max hp, max sp and aspd boost, good for emp breaking.
Carga//Kalga/칼가 Mace: overupped carga are the best choice for pure melee novices, just slot it with what you need
Laphine Staff: good for solo pvping, when you're not going to have sacrament or any other fixed cast time reductions, this is a good choice.
Ice Pick: good against tanks, bad at everything else.
Eraser: also good for solo pvping, this is better than laphine if you have sacrament or any fixed cast time reducs.
Mjolnir: if you get a mjolnir, go all purpose and you're instantly the best player on the server, this weapon is better on a novice than a genetic or a sura, literally 3shot anyone with mammonite.
SHIELDS
Spoiler
Angelic Guard [1]: ABSOLUTE SHIT unless upgraded, if upgraded you want the whole set, and if you have the whole set it's good for melees.
Novice Shield [1]: LITERALLY BEST SHIELD IN GAME. reduces damage taken from ALL elements by 20% (except neutral), this with a thara is the biggest damage sponge you have.
Laphine Shield: i dont even know if this has a slot, if you google laphine shield with quotes you get absolutely no results, not even leika database has it, but you can @ii it in game. anyhow this shield is beast with laphine staff, good for pure int builds.
CHEST ARMOR
Spoiler
Angelic Protection [1]: this armor has some pretty solid defense, 20 mdef and a slot, if you get to upgrade this thing and get advanced angelic, it has another 10 mdef, this is good even without set.
Eden Armor: sadly this is a good choice to compensate your shitty hp and sp pool. also has high base def and some mdef, just throw in some enchants in it
Bayani Bakonawa Scale Armor: solid +2 all stats and a slot, if you dont need to survive this is a good damage choice with the correct cards.
Puente Robe [1]: if you're going support i guess you could use this, like, if you want to heal 3% more... actually don't, this is shit.
Upgraded Adventurer Suit [1]: this is only if you're going against shitters that don't hit any magic damage, otherwise you want mdef. 3% hp can make you endure that one more banishing point that was supposed to kill you.
BOOTS
Spoiler
Angel's Reincarnation [1]: overall good, gives you some HP and a decent amount of SP, but you might want to use novice shoes instead of this UNLESS you have the advanced version of these shoes.
Bayani Bangungot Boots of Nightmare [1]: incredibly fucking good IF YOU CAN REFINE IT. put an antique firelock on this and you will never die again and will have permanent agi up (you could even assign those 10 points on something else!)
Novice Shoes [1]: best and cheapest choice overall, 5% max hp, good defense and a slot.
Sleipnir: if you can actually make god items, make this before mjolnir, it's better for all your specs.
Chippy Chippy Chippy,i studied you like a MVP, how to kill that silly SN, well i think i got the answer previously but i didn't had the opportunity to put it in pratice (lies, only zeny sortage really), but to be killed by a SN and complays about poor equips means nothing (only looks to be a sore loser), and it's awesome someone so activie in #main, and main city, always dueling at Prontera and being turned into big sized squirrels.
Congrats for the hard work you had attained as a Super Novice. I guess that you can kill more than many classes (as you do already lol)
