Main goals are to:
- Remove the randomized hidden gains.
- Make refine bonuses below +15 more appealing as well as closing the power gap a little bit.
- Make refine chances past +10 more reasonable.
- Make armor refines more useful.
- Allow more refining options.
Refining success rates past +10 (Up to +10 remains the same):
- +11: 60%
- +12: 40%
- +13: 30%
- +14: 20%
- +15: 20%
- +16: 15%
- +17: 15%
- +18: 10%
- +19: 10%
- +20: 5%
Weapons:
- Weapon Lv. 1 - Every +1 gives 2 ATK & MATK. 2 ATK & MATK extra for every upgrade past the +7 safe limit and 6 ATK & MATK extra for every upgrade past +15.
- Weapon Lv. 2 - Every +1 gives 3 ATK & MATK. 3 ATK & MATK extra for every upgrade past the +6 safe limit and 8 ATK & MATK extra for every upgrade past +15.
- Weapon Lv. 3 - Every +1 gives 5 ATK & MATK. 4 ATK & MATK extra for every upgrade past the +5 safe limit and 10 ATK & MATK extra for every upgrade past +15.
- Weapon Lv. 4 - Every +1 gives 7 ATK & MATK. 7 ATK & MATK extra for every upgrade past the +4 safe limit and 12 ATK & MATK extra for every upgrade past +15.
Bows will now receive a MATK bonus per refine.
Armor:
- Every +1 gives 3 DEF, 2 DEF extra for every upgrade past the +4 safe limit and 5 DEF extra for every upgrade past +15.
- Garments and shoes receive additional 1 MDEF every two refines as well as an additional 1 MDEF per refine past +15.
Overall DEF gain from refines was increased by a reasonable amount and certain pieces will now receive some MDEF as well.
Ores:
- HD Elunium & Oridecon will not be available.
- Enriched Elunium & Oridecon will be available and obtainable from in-game content.
- HD Bradium & Carnium will be available and obtainable from in-game content. Failing a refine with these ores results in losing 2 refine levels rather than 1.
- No safe refine tickets.
Whitesmith's Weapon Refine changed to Equipment Refine which now works with armor and goes up to +20. All Mechanics have also had their Equipment Refine chance adjusted to match a job 70 Whitesmith.
This means that for refines past +10 you can either use HD ores at NPC for "safe" refines with default success chance and losing 2 refines upon failure or try your luck with a smith, getting 10% extra chance but if it fails, it's game over.
