I will mention that positional lag due to damage (especially while fighting a mob) is still an issue. Movement lag isn't happening. What's happening is my position or the position of (for example) a safety wall is not what it appears to be while fighting most of the time. Again, Positional lag while normally moving is not an issue at all (to my knowledge). Damage, however, still seems to cause teleports and illusions as to where some things are.

Yeah I found this yesterday. Trying to move while getting hit sometimes causes it. Until the flinch is over and you click again, the poslag is there putting you in the wrong place. Clicking again does instantly sort it afterwards which seems more snappy and smooth than truero (maybe UK has less ping on aesir) but I wonder if there's a way to sort this completely. I'll test this more once I 3rd and get dark illusion. If I manage to escape a trap with dark illusion and no poslag occurs then at least we know we are a level beyond truero in this area, especially if I was hit just before escaping.

Me, Frost and Vio tested a "fix" I implemented, to resend the position packet + movement packet. That fixed the issue, but caused movements to be not fluid at all anymore. Plus, on official server, when you get damage you stop walking and doing anything you're doing. On every pServer, seems that this isn't happening, client stop showing movements and actions but server keeps going. This causes a bad syncro beetween client and server. Trust me that with this fix Herc and rA added, it's a lot better, and who used to play on kRo/iRo can confirm that position lag is a very annoying issue on Aegis as well :(

I can relate: it's one of the reasons proper mobbing was such a big deal back in the pre-RE kRO and iRO days - getting hit while trying to move and act sucked, so you just learned to move in a way that kept you from getting hit.

In any case, don't feel too-too pressured, Rikter. Damage related positional lag has always been a tough issue for every server to deal with - I'd understand if you had to put this off for a while. And if other people don't understand, I'll bash their heads in.  ;)

I even thought it was on purpose this position lag, just to make the game "more interesting". Gravity so creative.
