The patcher starts up and works fine, however when it press the play button the patcher goes away but nothing else happens. It just never starts up. I'm on windows 7 and pretty new to third party servers and to an extent ragnarok as a whole. I tried reinstalling it but nothing changed.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Right Mouse Button on icon > properties > in one of the tabs check "run as administrator".

Well, that fixed that but now the game crashes on startup.

Any errors popping up? You might want to take screenshot and post it here.

Which partition have you installed it on? I remember sometimes RO clients didn't want to work on system partition for some unknown for me reason, but it might be fixable.

You can also try to run game in Windows XP compatibility mode in the same options you checked "run as adminitrator". Doubt it'll fix it, but trying won't be bad.

You can also usually find server admins on leika IRC and get direct help from them. Link to IRC channel should be on the webpage, I'll also ask admin to check the forums.

I think irc is down. Post screenshots of the errors here. Its probably the partition error that Psor is talking about.

Nope. Just your usual "this program has stopped responding" stuff the instant the window pops up.

I put it in the program files (86x) directory, and running it in compatibility mode did nothing.

Don't forget windows xp sp3 compatibility mode along with run as admin for BOTH leikaro.exe and leikaro patcher.exe

You could also try moving the game outside of the program files folder.

Just tried that. Now I actually get an error message before the game crashes. "Load MapInfo Table Failed!"

This is most likely due to having corrupted grf files, are you using the full client install? Did you antivirus quarantine something during installation?

I used the full client and if my antivirus took anything it's not showing on the records.

Try reinstalling, running update-ragnarok.exe, deleting leika.dat file and running leika patcher again.

Now I'm back to no error message and instant crash. I'm starting to think I just can't play this server.

Have you tried moving the whole game folder outside of program files folder? Have you configured the game through opensetup.exe? (setting the correct GPU, resolution and everything else)

Mine did that error back then. I think I remember moving all the files to a whole new folder placed on desktop.

I have it on the desktop and I just tried changing those settings to no avail.

You could try doing a Windows repair, this could be caused by anything on a modern OS.

Out of curiosity, what resolution are you trying to run the game as? I've heard that sometimes the client can crash if you're not using a resolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio, and changing the resolution to something with that ratio can fix the problem.
