Regular ore using a whitesmith if you are poor.
Enriched ore at NPC if you are rich.
Best i got for armor was +6 or +7 on feather of protection using Enriched ore(cash shop item).

Best i got for weapon was +5 on some katar, fogot the name, using Enriched ore (broke at 5>6).
Refinement is all luck, it's up to you using regular or enriched ore.
Good luck.

according to my statistics based on the upgrades i have done on this server, the rates of refining success chance are relatively matching the designated rates of iRO.

the mechanic/whitesmith boost gives the +10% as intended individually on every refine, therefore it is progressively rising the success chance of refinement.

the raw refine rates follows as:                                      refine rates with the +10% whitesmith/mechanic boost

refinelvl.   weapon lvl1.  lvl2.          lvl3.         lvl4.&armor      weapon lvl1.        lvl2.            lvl3.        lvl4.&armor

+4 => +5      100%(1)   100%(1)  100%(1)     60%(1.7)              100%(1)     100%(1)     100%(1)     70%(1.43)

+5 => +6      100%(1)   100%(1)   60%(1.7)   40%(2.5)              100%(1)     100%(1)      70%(1.43) 50%(2)

+6 => +7      100%(1)    60%(1.7) 50%(2)      40%(2.5)              100%(1)     70%(1.43)   60%(1.7)   50%(2)

+7 => +8      60%(1.7)   40%(2.5) 20%(5)      20%(5)                 70%(1.43)  50%(2)        30%(3.4)   30%(3.4)

+8 => +9      40%(2.5)   20%(5)    20%(5)      20%(5)                 50%(2)       30%(3.4)     30%(3.4)   30%(3.4)

+9 => +10    20%(5)      20%(5)    20%(5)      10%(10)               30%(3.4)    30%(3.4)     30%(3.4)   20%(5)

+0 => +10 4.8%(21) 0.96%(105) 0.24%(417) 0.0384%(2605)  10.5%(9.5) 3.15%(32)   1.13%(89) 0.315%(318)

* the numbers in bracers () are the amount of item needed to certainly reach a certain lvl not counting a person's personal luck.
usually the statistics are fairly accurate when refining huge quantities(100 or more) of equipments.

as the numbers as well show the whitesmith refine boost cuts the cost of refinement tremendously.
lvl3 weapons the necessary item amount drops from 417 to 89 which is like 21% of the original amount.
on lvl 4 weapons and armors that goes from 2605 to 318 which is 12% of the original.

i am not certain on the rates refining with enriched ori/elu on this server since i have never tried,
but according what i have read on the forum with enriched ores you receive a reroll in case you were to fail
(no actual, visual feedback, its just simply how the success chance is calculated in the script)

it uses the default chances for the rerolls so calculating with that

refinelvl.   weapon lvl1.                     lvl2.          lvl3.                      lvl4.&armor

+4 => +5      100%(1)                       100%(1)    100%(1)                  84%(1.2)

+5 => +6      100%(1)                       100%(1)     84%(1.2)                64%(1.6)

+6 => +7      100%(1)                     84%(1.2) 0.5+0.5*0.5=75%(1.3) 64%(1.6)

+7 => +8      0.6+0.4*0.6=84%(1.2)  64%(1.6)    36%(2.8)                36%(2.8)

+8 => +9      0.4+0.6*0.4=64%(1.6)  36%(2.8)    36%(2.8)                36%(2.8)

+9 => +10    0.2+0.8*0.2=36%(2.8)  36%(2.8)    36%(2.8)  0.1+0.9*0.1=19%(5.3)

+0 => +10    19.4%(5.2)                    7%(15)        3%(34)                 0.85%(118)

so if the script indeed calculates just like this, it would mean that on lvl3 and 4 weapons and armors, you could possibly save up to 2/3 of your items if you use enriched ores.

sounds like a sweet deal if you have the money to donate to purchase enriched ores for CP.

could save you a lot of time spent on grinding for the items you want, if you prefer to spend your money over your time.

if not, then the whitesmith refine buffs are still giving you a fair deal, while being able to save your CP for other valuables.
