(Rebel) Hammer of God

Posted by Lyka on 24 November 2014 - 08:45 PM

"This is a Rifle exclusive skill.
Summon a hammer of god from the sky to hit a target area. Targets affected by Crimson Marker in the effective area will be hit by the skill, dealing damage to the target and enemies in a 5x5 area.
If there is no target affected by Crimson Marker in the targeted area, hammer of god will drop on a random location within the area. Targets hit by this skill will be stunned at a 100% chance. Higher skill level increases the stun duration."

Balance Update:
"Hammer of god
- change bullets for coins. (3 to 0 bullets)
- Damage = nÂș total of coins that used (each attack used all coins available)"

Currently does not work without any Crimson Markers. It should work but be randomly placed.
As for how exactly that should work I'm not sure. Should it decide on an area to drop within a 5x5 of the cast location tile, then do a 5x5 aoe from the tile randomly chosen?

Has a note about that issue, but nothing else really.

Another point:
I believe the skill was changed to consume all available coins and do damage based on amount of coins consumed?

At the moment it doesn't consume coins (or bullets), and receives no damage bonus.

I see the following multipliers in a post, which might be related to coins or something else entirely I'm not sure:
http://forums.warppo...eir-sakraybuff/
[Level 1] 2000% ATK + 3 sec stun -> 2400% ATK + 3 sec stun
[Level 2] 2500% ATK + 3 sec stun -> 3200% ATK + 3 sec stun
[Level 3] 3000% ATK + 4 sec stun -> 4000% ATK + 4 sec stun
[Level 4] 3500% ATK + 4 sec stun -> 4800% ATK + 4 sec stun
[Level 5] 4000% ATK + 5 sec stun -> 5600% ATK + 5 sec stun

There's also the missing animation but you know about that one.

From that point demo's Hand of God. Again not in english but it's they are the only demo vids about. Looks kinda wierd in that video though.

There's a lot to be done to this skill (a complete rework), yet we miss information, gonna do something that makes sense.

Description states that hammer will fall in random area without crimson marker. It appears to not drop a marker at all if there is not a crimson marked target.

Uhm...I would need to know how it acts when there's no crimson marked target. It drops in a random cell in a 5x5 area but then...does it do a splash damage centered on that cell, or is it a single-cell attack?

Making it a single-cell attack, would explain why from iRoWiki users' testings it seems that it does nothing.

Well..

A randomly placed single tile attack would make it pointless to use it without a Crimson Mark. Might as well just force a mark requirement.

A randomly placed 5x5 aoe would be better, but i don't think randomly placing the center point of that 5x5 aoe in a 5x5 radius around where you click is.. random enough?
The description implies this would be the way it works but I'm not sure it'd be worth using Crimson Mark with it like that, you could probably consistently hit what you want.

Exactly.

Also, in the video an Unmarked Desert Wolf is hit by the skill. Animation happens, but no damage is delivered. So either it doesn't work at all on Unmarked targets, or it applies a 1-cell hit (which is pointless in the other way, as 1 cell over a 5x5 is...basically nothing.)

Just make it as follows:

No Mark: Hand of God strikes a single tile in a 5x5 radius around where you place it. It's useless but probably whats supposed to happen given the description.

Mark: Hand of God strikes the marked target, and also hits everything in a 5x5 radius around it.

That is how I'd say the skill should work from the translated skill descriptions lying around.
In the end, marking a target before using the skill isn't too much of a hassle.

I would say that the Crimson Mark being consumed when HoG is cast is a bit crap though.

We're missing some bits though.

What's the effective AoE of the skill (the area where the laser can strike).

If there are multiple marked targets, do they all get hit by a separate laser? If they do, does the splash damage trigger for each strike? (which would effectively make it deal absurd amounts of damage).

Yea but marking different targets, that arent mobs, isnt really something thats gonna be easy unless someone is helping you with rooting, CCing them. And in PVE, please.

What vertygo says sounds pretty reasonable to me.
