Hi,

 

After I reset my skill on the reset genie, it requires me to put all my skill points in my 1st and 2nd job's skills until all of them are all max before I can use my skill points for my 3rd job skills. Is that how it supposed to be?

 

 I'm a ranger and some skills like Ranger Main does not have any pre-requisite skills and I can't use my skill points to increase the level :(

 

Please help because otherwise, I have to delete this avatar and start all over again.

If I'm understanding your post correctly, you want to be able to put Archer and Sniper skill points into Ranger skills. Ragnarok Online doesn't work that way - your skill points need to be from the respective class's job levels.
You shouldn't need to max out every skill in your skill tree but use up the corresponding job points (ie 49 High Archer points if you changed at job 50, 69 Sniper points if you changed to Ranger from job 70).

As much as it sucks that half the Sniper skill trees are useless in renewal, you're going to have to decide what to put points into before you can level Ranger points with your Ranger job levels.

Thanks for replying.

 

My ranger job level is 16. After I reset my skills, it gave me a total skill points of 133. This is weird because I changed to sniper at job level 70. Then rebirth and changed to ranger at job level 70. It should have given me 138+15=153 skill points.

 

Next, when I try to put the skills in. I have to max all of my 1st level skills before it lets me increase level on both my 2nd. I did that and used 45 skill points.

 

The problem comes next, when I already used up all 70 skill points for my 2nd class job. I tried to put skill points to my 3rd job(ranger), but it would not let me do so.

 

This means that I am required to put every skill points (including my ranger skill points) into my 2nd job, sniper.

 

Then, I concluded that this is an error. If I am required to put every skill point to my 2nd job, then I will have 0 skill points for my 3rd job (ranger) even though my ranger job level is 16.

Nevermind. Solved it by rebooting the patch client. Still confused why my skill points are missing 20 points though. It seems that the reset NPC assumes that I changed into my 2nd job(sniper) at level 50.

You should have 133 points after resetting as a Ranger at Job 16.

 

You get 49 points from Archer

69 points from Sniper

and you'll have 15 points from Ranger

 

So 49 + 69 + 15 = 133. You should end up with first 74 points before you can put points into Sniper skills, then 15 to start putting them into Ranger skills.

 

You can only get to Job 50 as a Hunter, and even so you can't use the hunter job points any more. They're gone. You only get Archer, Sniper, and Ranger. Unless you changed directly from Hunter to Sniper, in which case you may find yourself missing 20 points because you skipped rebirth.

 

I hope this helps clear it up for you? I don't see anything wrong. I might be misunderstanding, though. Maybe post some screenshots of your problem, if I'm not making any sense. :3

Unfortunately, I did not take any screenshots before I changed jobs.

 

I was pretty sure that I leveled up my High Archer to level 70 before changing it to Sniper because the Job NPC gave better free equipments instead of job changing from level 50.

 

Hence, High Archer (69)+Sniper (69)= 138 skill points. But, because archers don't have a lot of skills, I ended up throwing away around 20 skill points before changing to Sniper, thinking that I could use it in the future.

 

I guess that I am wrong. I made another character and will post screenshots before I changed to High Wizard next time.

You cant go higher than job 50 as first class/ job. The max you could go as high archer is 99/50.

As Selphie says, you can't level past job 50. Maybe you're thinking of the option to change at job 40?
