Incorrect Class HP/SP Mods on Server

Posted by Salad on 24 May 2015 - 07:53 AM

So after doing some more comparisons on this server the only conclusion I can make is that private server emulation never accounted for the fact that 3rd class jobs have different HP/SP modifiers than their non 3rd counterparts.

You will see 2 tables listed for Renewal. This was before the big class balance patch and after the patch (around Episode 14.1). In both cases you will clearly see that classes are put into HP tiers and their relative HP compared to other classes did not change much after balancing(aside from closing the HP gap between Rune Knights and other classes).

What this server is using instead, is the HP/SP modifiers for 2-1 and 2-2 classes which is not accurate for 3rd. What this means is that certain classes like Geneticists should have much less HP than they do now, instead of the same HP as Mechanics. In exchange, Geneticists should be in the highest Max SP tier, the same as Mages. Currently, they have half the SP of Arch Bishops, which is the Priest/Alchemist modifiers. They should have more SP than Arch Bishops. What this also means is that Suras are enjoying a much higher SP modifier than they should be on this server. Because of how Max SP % is calculated, they are also getting a much bigger bonus from SP gear than they should be. This is pretty big as Max SP goes directly into a lot of Monk/Sura skill damage formulas. They should also have a bit less max HP than they currently do.
On the plus side, 3rd class Archers share the same HP/SP modifier so performers would gain a chunk of HP with these changes.

This isn't a small bug, HP/SP mods mean a lot and could change PvP/WoE interaction pretty drastically.

http://calc.irowiki.org/ This calculator is using post 14.1 balance formulas so it should be up to date. It seems roughly accurate aside from an error in calculation that seems to result in Rune Knights switching to a higher, incorrect SP mod from level 151 onwards.

Can confirm. My 138/37 Maestro with 53 vit has 15k HP, when it should have 17k. My 175/60 Geneticist with 100 vit and no HP modifiers has 36947 HP, when he should have 31520 HP. Similarly, sitting at 110+12 int, I have 1970 SP when the SP mod info says I should have 4479.
