there will be a new client to download exactly because of a client update.

Is this new client relatively small in size? Do we have to re-download kRO or do we just overwrite the new client over the old one?

Truth is I'm delaying the launch by 1 day for each "when will it open?" request~

Booo Boooo Booo! No, seriously, Server's ready. Client is (almost) too. [Waiting for the new design so I can change the logo and such small things].

New client will be bigger than previous, simply because we included -almost- everything from other RO official servers [Mainly jRO, which has the best sprite/textures -yeah we'll add the new classes sprites when they'll be out-].

This means that both full and lite client will be replaced, so you'll have to re-download them.

There will also be an update on client executable, about 1-2 weeks after the launch. This will be done automatically via patcher, and will introduce the latest client with roulette system and char-bound gender :)

No and certainly no one cares who you are.

So server not opening because of website.... So pointless.... You are loosing peoples and credibility because of this... You can drop the client on the forum and fix the website (we don't care about the website when playing) while we are playing... This is telling a lot about how you will act with your peoples in the future...

Just relax, an official launch without a working website would put even more people off, where would new player download the client if the website is down (not to mention, where would every player DL it from, seeing as it will be a new version). Just chill, they want the official launch to be a complete launch and work properly.

Put the link on the forum and redirect. Or do like other mmo : Early acess launch for those who play during beta and follow the forum. 

 

In fact, because you take us as fool and keep pushing the opening, you are loosing people who think admin's are just bunch of trolls.

 

This is sad because this server have a big potential but is rules by people who think they can administrate something, but in fact, lack some community management skills.

You've practically been in this forum for 2 days and you're this desperate. This is why we can't have nice things.

 

You either wait for official launch or you go to those generic trashcan servers. Your choice.

I'd be a troll if I opened it now without completing things I promised I'd do.

I'd be a troll if I said "I'll open on 20th december!" and it would still be closed on 21th.

But since I'm the one paying the bill here, and since "there hasn't been any decent server around since cookie v1" I guess noone would die for waiting a few days,

Now, Kamiiyu, if you think you're such a Big Boy that knows a bunch about administrating a server, you can get on Hercules.ws or rathena.org, follow a simple 5-step guide, set up your own server and open it in 2 hours. I have a few names to suggest you, I'd name it over tRO,nRO or something lol-releated, I'm sure it will be a huge success.

You have lose the right to make us wait, us stupid people (this is what you are taking us for), without someone like me start to complain...

 

Rikter, your server is having a good potential, I see a bright future, but you really need to work with your community management skills, your capacity to release your stock un due date or at least, evaluate the time it take and annonce a realistic date.

 

Yes unexpected problem happens, but it take what 5-6 days before having any news ? That's not realistic.

We know what we're doing, and if you think the opposite, You' free to leave.

If you still didn't get it: You like it, or you suggest changes. 'cause you're not making criticism, you're just starting a flame.

Edit: You want a realistic date? Next year. So everyone will stop complaining and I'll get some free time.

Here is an idea.

 

1) Tell us when you think you will launch the server from now, today. And not a 1-3 days, a fix date with a fix hour.

 

2) Do a roadmap, communicate more on what you are doing at the moment

 

Is that more constructive ? Sorry for being an ass, but I want to play on this server and this is taking too long for nothing.

1) As said, I'm waiting for the new website. Why we need it? 'cause we are not a random ass server that can launch with no site. 'cause there will be a new patcher skin with that, and without that skin I cannot complete the client. Also waiting for the new webhost to be prepared, where forum and wiki will be transfered, as well as where the new patches will be hosted. This implies that I had no powers over time and space and cannot determinate any date or hour.

2) I just finished adding automated events for you to enjoy, after a full day of regular real life work, for a total of 9 hours of normal work + 6 hours of RO work, my regular routine for the past 6 months.
Then I had the bad idea to check my forum before sleeping. 'cause yeah...spending time coding drains my availability with community right now, but whatever...I can spend a few minutes per day reading the forum, I'm not doing THAT MUCH afterall. And guess what? A guy that registered 2 days ago just told me that this server's stuff is just good for nothing, as well as told me exactly what to do. What an idiot I am! Why didn't I think about it?! The Forum! Release the client [that's not ready yet] on the forum! Then I remembered why I didn't do it. And get a bit angry at what I read, yeah..but I know I've got a bad attitude. Now I'm just writing a reply, a bit sarcastic, a bit sad, and to be honest I don't know whatelse to think, but I'll eat a sandwich before sleeping, for sure.

And yeah, sorry for being an ass, but I really really want to open up the server an it's taking too long, even if it's for valid reasons.
