So I didn't want to keep posting "Day 1, 2, 3, etc" topics, and I wanted to hold off until the next maintenance to voice some small things I still find peculiar.
 
Some of these things could be considered bugs. Some of them could be considered recommendations. Some of them could be considered requests. Because I don't want to over-post in two or three different threads, I'm putting it all here.

No, this isn't a madly helpful command. However, it'd be nice to check how much exp you have after you reach level 99 

          Positional Lag

I talked briefly about this in another post - but damage still causes positional lag. I know this is a difficult issue to deal with, so do take your time on it and solve it in the most correct, thorough way you can. I have more to say, but I'll wait until Scias and I test some stuff regarding PosLag.

 
          Non-3rd Level Cap

This is an odd, uncommon topic, but the level cap on most of the classes in the game agitates me. 99.999% of the time, a Transcendent character will max their base level before they max their job level. On occasion, you'll find someone who turned in a quest at the wrong time and ended up a level 99/1 Paladin, or some shit. 99.999% of the time, no one takes Taekwon Rankers seriously because they're fucking stuck at level 99.
 
Why? Why are less-powerful classes being forced to either be unplayable, or waste some of their time until thirds? It doesn't make any sense to me. Quite honestly, I feel like every class should be able to go to base level 175 if they want to (including Novice). Changing classes just gives you an upgrade in stat mods and more skills to use always. In that regard, please... please remove the base level caps on all classes. 

 
          Quest EXP

I don't know if this has been addressed yet or not, but I feel like quests are giving 1x rates on EXP. At level 95+, should the Eden quests for Turtle Dungeon give you 16% exp? No, they shouldn't. Do please check the quest EXP rates, if you haven't already.
 
          Spiral Pierce

I haven't tested this myself since the maintenance, but you can use Spiral Pierce (Clashing Spiral) with a sword. I actually kind of like this - the Lord Knight's best damage skill being available for both weapon platforms. Come on, who's to say a knight couldn't spin their sword while thrusting anyways?
 
          Traps Still Have Cast Time

I remember hearing that the hunter skills Blast Mine, Land Mine, and Claymore would have their casting time removed so they could be instantly placed down, just like every single other trap in the game. I'll say that since traps are such a good method of leveling, and since I know you plan on buffing the Black Wing Set for the sake of ranger traps anyways, you should fix this sometime before the Beta is over.

 
          Guild Tax

To my knowledge, the guild tax goes up to 88% (I could be wrong - I just asked someone, and that's what they said). What's the purpose of this? I love guild tax because it lets me lock a character at a specific level so I can attend more leveling parties and speed up the leveling process for the trillions of characters that I make. 88% isn't very different from 99% in terms of guild growth rate, so what's the point?

 
As such, I'd like to recommend that you allow guilds to EXP tax their members at 99%.
 
          Stylist 
[spoiler]The stylist still does not tell you which Palette Number, Hair Color Number, or Hairstyle Number you are currently wearing, nor does it have a "Return to Original" option. I also still don't think you can load your saved styles (but again, I haven't tested it since the last maintenance). 

 
There's more I could mention, but most of it should be further tested, and is somewhat trivial as well.

Here's something that greatly pisses me off about the forums: not being able to edit posts within a few minutes of making them.

Yes I'm using the preview option and triple reading my posts when I read them. Still though, I go back after they're posted to find something isn't using the font I wanted, or the spoilers were in the wrong place, or a piece of code wasn't closed in the proper tags, or something else stupid like that. I click on Edit, and it says I don't have permission to edit the post. Why? Because I waited a minute too long before editing it.
 
Oh, and here's the worst offender: Let's say you want to write your whole post in a certain font that isn't the default font. You aren't in code mode (the silver square button at the very top left of the forum chat box that allows you to see all the effects and code that goes into your forum post), and you are reading your post over in the typing section (not the previewed version). You finish your addition (which appears to be the font you want in the typing-window), read it over, and click "Add Reply." Well guess what? Everything you added after clicking Preview Post will be in the default font unless you go back, manually select that area, and change the font either by going back and forth between two fonts in the window, or by entering code mode and making sure the font tags are aligned correctly (and if you're not in code mode, then reassigning fonts and effects almost always moves most unaffiliated BBC codes around too - usually putting the closing tag right in front of the opening tag. If that's not the case, I've just noticed that spoiler closing tags fucking move wherever they want to in your post every time you press the damn Preview Post button. Seriously, try it. I'm not fucking with you: closing tags move around on their own and skip from paragraph to paragraph, even if you're editing in code mode).
 
That's a forum bug that I honestly couldn't care less about. You could say "never fixing this" and I'd give you a happy thumbs up, glad to know that you're spending your time fixing more important things. Going back and reading my submitted post again, only to find that it says "You don't have permission to edit the post" though? That's (in my humble opinion) fucking bullshit. So, as a side-suggestion on this thread, could we please allow the forum members to edit their posts (and delete them if they desire), no matter how long ago they were made?
 
Now yes, I do certainly understand some uses for having timed-out Edit options, such as holding people forever accountable for anything inappropriate or uncalled for they might have said on the forums. I understand if you want a permanent log of the forums for the sake of records. However, first of all, this is immediately outweighed by the inconvenience of not being able to Edit posts after a certain period of time being the greater evil here. Second of all, if you want a permanent log of the forums, then save one and put it in your Documents folder or something every week. Third of all, if someone said something inappropriate and you intend to prosecute them for it, then just screenshot it. If they change their post and say "Lol I never said that breh," you can send them the screen shot and be all like "lol ya u did. Now ima rek u 4 lyin scrub."
 
Oh, and plus, you don't need screenshots if you saw it in the first place, do you? Moderates are put in their position of power precisely because they're supposed to be trustworthy, fair, and honest; not letting bias or personal feelings get in the way of their judgment, and I'm happy to say that the moderators on AesirRO are awesome at their job. You guys allow for free speech, don't edit other people's posts (like the fuckers at TrueRO forums did), you treat other people equally, you partake in funny conversations like any other normal member, and you all have a good reputation (at least with all the people I've talked with). The fact that you have this thing called the Print Screen Button on your keyboard is just a God-sent bonus.

 

Actually, just kidding. Screenshots and other forms of solid proof hold the moderators accountable for their own honesty as well, thus working as a better alternative than permanently saved posts anyway. Why? Because with screenshots, no one can lie. With posts that only moderators can edit though, accountability becomes an issue (though, only usually with large forums that have tons of moderators (lol and TrueRO forums). Small forums like this have a 99.999% chance of being clean and honest regardless). 

Now honestly, if I had to guess; this is unintentional. I'm assuming that the moderators didn't know about this for a while, and perhaps they already intend to do something about it. Still though, I'm going to make a whiny-ass post about it right here and now to make sure this bullshit issue at least acknowledged as a thing.

I do want to make clear that I'm not accusing or blaming anyone for this issue - I just think it should be solved as soon as possible. - I like it when my posts are easy on the eyes, clean, orderly, neat, and properly put together without typos or code errors. I get that people should use the Preview button - and trust me, I do use it (a lot). Still, I don't think the preview button is an excuse for us being unable to correct our little human mistakes.

 

Also, before you ask, I don't have OCD. I know, it's crazy to think someone who can bitch this much about something so stupid and talk for so long about how she likes having perfect posts isn't OCD, but trust me, it's true.

The Spiral Pierce change has been there since the beginning of Renewal on kRO, and it's indeed a nice change.

 

As for the stylist, IIRC the load option always has the last palette you used in the first slot. That save/load option is mostly meant for when you're madly spamming enter looking for nice colors, not to keep a set of saved styles.

Though... in regard to my angry forum jihad rant - will anything be done about the forum posts not being able to be edited after a few minutes? Cus like... not to be narcissistic or anything, but I feel like I made a rather good point up there.

-1 on this. If you need the post for prosecution as a forum moderator, you should screenshot it weather the poster can edit it or not. Screenshots should always be used. Other then that, It's bullshit that we can't edit our posts after a few minutes of making them.

Max tax is 80% right now, we could increase it though.

Forum edit timeout is at 15 min atm, which is pretty generous and allows you to fix your mistakes. We don't want unlimited editing since it allows for backpedaling.

In that case, we have screenshots, but meh.

Just let the editing rule go both ways, please. I don't want to see moderators editing posts that the players make, if the players can't edit them either.

 

And yes I get that deleting is another thing: I think deleting plausibly dangerous comments certainly has a time and place.

At max level it's nice to be able to tax all the exp that would otherwise be wasted. Some people like to tax a character and prevent it from leveling to keep it in range to party with friends. It isn't that important and 80% is enough to max a guild quickly. I believe 50 is max on kro

ya 99% is good and i agree , it help some players from levelling and to keep in same range...

I actually agree with Gio about editing >_>

      I appreciate the support, you two, and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's been thinking this way. Perhaps the GM team would like to give the topic more thought; hopefully making a change in the near future.

     To answer your question, the reason I (we?) want guild tax to go to 99% has NOTHING to do with how fast a guild levels up. Instead, it has EVERYTHING to do with keeping certain characters at certain levels. I absolutely hate having to die over and over again to stay at a certain level, and in some cases, if guild tax is too low, you can't kill but a few enemies before you level up anyways.

 

     I dedicate entire sets of 5+ characters just to lock at certain levels to help other people level up all the time. It's actually one of my favorite things to do in RO (help people level). It's also excruciatingly helpful when trying to quickly level a character of your own - especially for people like me who might end up making 50+ characters at some point in time.

It only ensures that you have to take accountability for what you say, just like it works in real life. Actually this server has pretty decent rules (except the one regarding MvPs and DeadBranch/BloodyBranch bombing), most servers have shit like "your rights (or rather priviliges) end where my feelings begin".

Uh Gio, that has a point. I could do something more about it to be honest, but putting tax at 99% is indeed the fastest "fix" available without having to do anything else.
