Overview
MVP stands for "Most Valuable Player", a definition not exclusive to Ragnarok Online. This is a monster with Boss Protocol and MVP Protocol and are much stronger than normal monsters. MVPs appear on a wide range of maps, though only at certain times, ranging from once per hour to once per 24 hours since the last MVP of that kind was killed, to when GMs decide to spawn it. In addition to their own stats and skills, MVPs may also summon monsters that will fight with them as their minions, making them even more difficult to defeat. Depending on the MVP, the fight may consist of up to nine monsters, which may all be the same monster or different ones.
While individual players may be able to defeat a MVP by themselves, players will find it substantially easier to defeat MVPs in groups. Because of the difficulty in defeating MVPs, such monsters give a high amount of experience and any items they may drop are added directly into the inventory of the player who had dealt the most damage to it.
MVPs are also free-for-all, which means that anyone can attack them, regardless of who found it first or who summoned it.
Tomb
When killed, MVPs not spawned by a player (e.g. Ktullanux, see Special Spawn section) will leave behind a Tomb at the spot in which they were killed. Speaking to the Tomb yields the MVP's time of death, along with the name of the player who received the MVP award for killing it. The Tomb does not give information as to the time or location the MVP will spawn next time. The time given is in PST.
Normal MVPs
Normal MVPs spawn a set amount of time after the previous one was defeated. For example, if Amon Ra is defeated at 11:00, it would spawn again at 12:00. If an MVP spawns in multiple places, the two times are independent of one another and the respawn period may be different. Below is a list of all normal MVPs, where they are located, and the time that needs to elapse before it will respawn.

Lighthalzen Dungeon Level 3 MVPs
One of the following MVPs (chosen randomly) will spawn between 95 to 150 minutes after the previous MVP is defeated on lhz_dun03 (Somatology Laboratory 3). These are all classified to be of High Difficulty.

Special MVP Monsters
The following MVPs have special spawn conditions that do not follow the timed spawn model.
- Baphomet (Event) is an event boss and only spawns when GMs decide to spawn it.
- Poring the Conqueror (aka Bring It On) is an event boss and only spawns when GMs decide to spawn it. This MVP is classified as Very High difficulty.
- Kthullanux is spawned by using 4 Freezing Snow Powder (obtained via the Ice Necklace Quest) or 4 Ice Scale (obtained by defeating Kthullanux previously) to put out the four sacred fires on ice_dun03 (Ice Dungeon 3). Once defeated, Kthullanux cannot be resummoned for another 2 hours. This MVP is classified as Mid-High difficulty.
- Memory of Thanatos is spawned by the completion of the Thanatos Tower Quest. This MVP is classified as Medium difficulty.
- Naght Sieger and Entweihen Crothen spawn in the Endless Tower instance at floors 101 and 100, respectively.
- Nidhoggur's Shadow spawns in the Nidhoggur's Nest instance.
