Overview

Airship's Assault is a part of the Heroe's Trails set of instances. It is intended for small parties of players midway through their 100-175 leveling phase. The difficulty level is a small step-up from Misty Forest Labyrinth while taking much less time to complete and being very straightforward. Providing decent amounts of experience and two very good sets of armor, this instance stands shoulder to shoulder with Infinite Space, although requiring a much smaller party for its completion. Newcomers should definitely try it out.

Background and Lore

Based on the original Ragnarok: Into the Abyss manhwa by Lee Myung-jin, this instance narrates the quick set of events that happened on the airship of Captain Ferlock while Chaos, Iris, Fenrir and Loki traveled on it towards Yuno. The appearance of a mysterious spellcaster named Arcana and her army of monsters, the "heroic" defense performed by Skadi, Var and Ran, a bunch of freeloaders and self-proclaimed heroes of justice, and the trigger-happy rampage of Captain Ferlock after discovering the mess, ultimately led to the destruction of his airship.

Tips

Normal monsters aren't particularly tough but you should look out for the bombs spawned by Sky Rotar Zairos as they can easily wipe out an unwary party. Both types of Acidus are considerably stronger than the rest of monsters and shouldn't be mindlessly mobbed.

Before the final showdown, you will have to deal with Flame Wyvern, while not a powerhouse, this miniboss still can easily wipe out squishies, so look out!

Enraged Captain Ferlock doesn't need help to defend his airship, and allies would only get on his way anyway as he isn't exactly known for his accuracy or self-restraint. It would be foolish to understimate him though, while slow and not a careful marksman, he is very resilient and his custom-made weapon carries absurd destructive power. Each of his signature skills such as Slug Shot or Hammer of God will surely take out even the most geared adventurers and should be avoided at all costs. Melee attacks are often countered with Dust or Back Sliding plus Fire Rain, which you have to sidestep. Pneuma and Defender aren't fool-proof solutions either, he is aware of such effects and removes them pretty often, usually chaining a few deadly skills right after. The fight revolves mostly around avoiding his powerhouse skills and reacting to the removal of your defenses, learn the mechanics and you shouldn't have big issues.
