Overview
The Wanderer class is the female performer class in its third class form. They are primarily a support and disabling / debuff class that is also capable of AoE ranged damage. They also have some magic / MATK based capabilities. They are more used for WoE situations now, but they can also provide unique party buffs that make them a worthwhile member to have in PVM parties (mainly the Dancer skill, Gypsy's Kiss, which lowers SP cost and provides more SP to party members). This buff is extremely helpful for classes with low Max SP, character builds with low INT, skills that depend on SP for damage (like Guillotine Fist and Dragon Breath), or classes that tend to have to spam high SP cost skills. The Wanderer is provided with an array of disabling skills that can quite effective in WoE. They also have access to decent MATK weapons (unlike their male counterpart, the Maestro), which allows them to make better use of the Metallic Sound skill, although this spell is still fairly weak and has a long cooldown.
The Wanderer also has a powerful AoE skill, Severe Rainstorm, which if geared properly, can dish out some hefty damage, but at a high SP cost (which is why high INT is strongly recommended).
Job Change Guide
- Main article: Wanderer Job Change Guide
Changing into a Wanderer from a Dancer or Gypsy requires the player to complete a number of tasks:
- Investigating a canceled performance
- Reconciling an estranged Wanderer with her Maestro partner
- Rigorous workout sessions to help a Wanderer get back into peak physical shape
After completing these tests, the player will be transformed into a Wanderer. The journey begins in Lutie!
Builds
Severe Rainstorm Build
- STR: 1-20 (for carrying capacity)
- AGI: 50-92
- VIT: 70-95
- INT: 70-90
- DEX: 100-120
- LUK: vary
Severe Rainstorm is the main leveling skill for the Wanderer class. It is a ranged AoE that showers a selected area with a volley of arrows. The damage is based on several factors including DEX, AGI, ATK, the bow and arrow used, and the element enchanted to the bow/arrows.
DEX not only adds to ATK but also adds damage to Severe Rainstorm as a multiplier in the damage formula, and so does AGI. However, depending on the character, one may choose more of either AGI or LUK for status immunities or AGI for Slow Grace in WoE. 95 VIT is sufficient at Job Level 50 to gain a total of 100 VIT with Job Bonuses. INT is for Gypsy's Kiss and Max SP/SP Recovery as Severe Rainstorm uses a whopping 120 SP each use.
Skills-wise, players using this build can invest in the same party buff skills as the Party Support build, and are not too different from full support builds.
Party Support Build
- STR: 1-20
- AGI: 1+
- VIT: 95
- INT: 100-120
- DEX: 70+
- LUK: vary
The primary function of this build is to buff party members as much as possible with Gypsy's Kiss by having very high INT and having high VIT for survivabiliy while performing songs. Because of the high amount of INT, Wanderers can take also advantage of the Metallic Sound skill to dish out some damage while performing songs, since the Wanderer class gets access to high MATK whips (unlike the Male performer counterpart the Maestro). The Sound Amplifier accessory is very useful for using this skill. Players can still get Severe Rainstorm with this build if they wish to, but the damage will be lower since stat placement wont be focusing mainly on DPS. Also Severe Rainstorm requires a bow to use, which means players won't be able to perform songs if they are using it (many players will switch back and forth between Whip and Bow in a party).
Skills to invest in:
Dancer:
(optional)
Wanderer:
Resurrects a single player, using their SP to restore their HP. Very useful for any ET or dungeon run. Has no cooldown so it can be spammed during party wipes (to prevent full party wipe).
Increases MDEF of all party members for one minute. This buff is helpful against MVP elemental AoE attacks.
Increases
Movement Speed and
ASPD of all party members for one minute.
Increases Max SP and SP Recovery. At level 5 and higher, allows the Wanderer to use third class skills while performing. Must be maxed for extra bonuses to many Wanderer skills.
Increases
MATK of all party members for one minute. This is a nice buff if there are Genetics or caster classes in party.
Basically gives minor increases to ATK and ASPD, but the real gem is the fixed cast delay reduction that this skill gives. This is one of the few Chorus skills worth investing into for a non-WOE build. Learn this one last though, as parties will not always have another performer in order to use this skill.
Pure WoE Build
- STR: 20+ (for weight limit for masq resist, and carrying more potions and items)
- AGI: 50+ (put much more if planning on using Slow Grace)
- VIT: 95
- INT: 92
- DEX: 84-120
- LUK: vary
This build focuses on giving the Wanderer maximum status immunity against enemy players (thus the high INT and VIT) as well as protection against Masquerade with a decent level of AGI (which also raises Severe Rainstorm damage and increases the bonus of Slow Grace). Players using this build might want to use a 4-slotted bow and status ailment arrows to compliment Arrow Shower or Severe Rainstorm against enemy players. The primary usage of this build is for debuffing and disabling enemy players while also buffing team players.
Skills to invest in:
Dancer:
Gypsy:
Wanderer:
This deserves one skill point because it is the only way of removing enemy Performers' debuffs at 100% chance when the Wanderer has no other allied Performer around. The Wanderer can use this to remove Siren's Voice, Gloomy Shyness, Saturday Night Fever, Sinking Melody and Warcry from Beyond from the Wanderer and also party members.
Place a sound wave on the ground that will snare enemies and allies, but not party members. Works on hidden enemies and is useful on speed potters, recallers and Mado Mechanics. Only downfall is that it is very hard to target with if trying to stop a moving target.
Enemies affected will be unable to target the Wanderer, but non-targeted AoE stuff will still work. This is the only AoE skill that can remove Group B Songs on enemies when solo. Mandatory skill for small party situations.
Useful for dismounting Rune Knights and Royal Guards. Skill level % chance to dismount, reduces Movement Speed by half, and applies a damage amplification debuff. Also lowers ASPD, which is good for slowing down Emperium breakers.
Increases Movement Speed and ASPD of all party members for one minute. This is good for helping party members break the Emperium faster.
Helpful for buffing the rangers in party as well as lowering fixed cast time of party members. Also good for removing Class B debuffs.
Equipment
This is by no means a complete collection of gear available. It is merely just suggestions based on some of the more popular gear options as well as some of the lower tier options for players with a lower budget.
Upper Headgear
Severe Rainstorm Builds:
Night Sparrow Cap - A must have item for SR builds that raises damage by 25% and lowers cooldown by 5% per level of Voice Lessons (total of 50% at level 10)
Airship Captain's Hat - This hat gives an additional 7% ranged damage
Rideword Hat [1] helps leech SP when casting Severe Rainstorm
Support Builds:
Crown of Deceit [1] +4 INT and boosts Metallic Sound damage
Card Suggestions:
Lower/Mid Headgear
Severe Rainstorm Builds:
Gangster Scarf - +5 ATK
Support Builds:
Weapon
Bow:
Elven Bow +
This combination will gives a 50% increase in ranged damage, which greatly increases Severe Rainstorm damage output.
Whip:
This is the strongest weapon for Wanderers using Metallic Sound, as it has the highest Magic Attack out of all Whips.
Shield
Armor
Orleans's Gown [1] This will prevent cast interruption while casting Severe Rainstorm or Metallic Sound
Garment
When upgraded to +9, this garment allows for three Expert Archer enchants which give an additional 20% ranged damage
Recommended cards:
Gives 20% increased SP and HP which is extremely helpful
Accessories
Very effective item for Wanderers using the Metallic Sound skill. This increases the damage by 150% per accessory. Metallic Sound can be insta-casted with two of these accessories as it has no fixed cast time, and a Phen Card or Orleans's Gown will not be required.
Card Suggestions:
This is needed for cast interruption protection while casting Severe Rainstorm. Using an Orleans's Gown will provide the same effect though and Orleans's has less cast time penalty.
