Counter Slash is a 3rd job offensive skill available as Guillotine Cross.
Description
This skill is available for 2 seconds after avoiding an attack with Weapon Blocking. Damages all targets around the caster with an attack that's able to Critically hit and also knocks them 5 cells back. Damage scales with AGI, Base and Job Levels.
Mechanics
Counter Slash can only be used after a physical attack is blocked through Weapon Blocking, making it more effective against monsters than players. Despite the description, the 5x5 area of effect is centered on the target, not the user. This interaction can result in the skill failing to hit enemies standing on the other side of the user, or even directly on top of them. Although the attack is centered on the enemy that most recently triggered Weapon Blocking, Counter Slash cannot be activated against enemies outside of the range. This skill counts as a melee physical skill, is blocked by Safety Wall, and can potentially miss due to insufficient HIT to match up against the target's FLEE. However, the fact that this skill can CRIT means it can potentially bypass high FLEE, and benefits from CRIT damage boosting effects. Whether or not the Counter Slash critically hits is calculated for each target, and the chance is reduced by each target's LUK.
