Lockboxes

Overview

Melody Jack has been hanging around the Lazy Quartermaster for quite some time, pretending to be friendly in order to exploit the guy's ever-growing loneliness. This resulted not in a blooming friendship but a heap of important papers mysteriously vanishing from his locket. Well-kept secrets such as the exact list of items one can obtain from Lockboxes are now out there, for the good or for the bad.

Here is what we know:

Lockboxes have two states, Locked and Unlocked, specified by their names. All Lockboxes are dropped in a Locked state. Using the required key with a Locked Box (Misc. Item) converts it into an Unlocked Box (Consumable Item) which can now be opened. Keys are sold by the Lazy Quartermaster or obtainable through the Cash Shop.

Locked boxes, unlocked boxes and their appropriate keys are fully tradable.

Lockbox Droprates

• Bronze Lockbox: Dropped by level 124+ normal monsters at a 0.05% chance and level <100 MVPs at a 20% chance.
• Silver Lockbox: Dropped by level 100~124 MVPs at a 10% chance.
• Golden Lockbox: Dropped by level 125+ MVPs at a 20% chance.

Exceptions are the following MVPs, which will drop a Silver Lockbox at a 20% chance: Root of Corruption, Tendrillion, Lost Dragon, General Egnigem, Enraged Captain Ferlock, Loomin (Easy). Lockboxes are awarded through a custom script and aren't shown with commands such as @mi and @whodrops and dropped to the ground around the killer.
